Susan Zickmann, Practice Manager
Susan is part owner and founder of the Lebanon Veterinary Hospital. She graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore in 1992. She worked in financial consulting and computer outsourcing for 15 years. Susan now enjoys working at the practice where her young children are so close that they can enjoy the animals and also learn about the hard work and dedication that goes into caring for them. She and Dr. Zickmann have two children named Gabby and Zack who are developing their love for animals. As a family, they also have a Bloodhound/Great Pyrenees mix named Oakley. He was from Double Dog rescue in CT. Susan loves to ski, bike, cook, and travel.
Laurel Venoit, Veterinary Technician
Laurel earned her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-veterinary Science from Becker College, with a minor in Equine Studies. She enjoys working with surgical procedures at the practice and meeting all the new puppies and kittens that come in for their first check-ups. Laurel has a thoroughbred named Rolex, and when she isn’t working, she enjoys horseback riding, running, going to the beach, and baking.
Sandra Chesmer, Veterinary Technician
Sandy is one of our veterinary technicians and she has been at this facility for over 30 years. She loves interacting with our clients and their pets, and also assisting in surgery. Sandy has 5 pets, including her 2 Golden Retrievers, Sydney and Ruby, and her 3 cats Percy, Olive, and Wills. She moved here from England in 1978 with her husband Graham and children Claire and Scott. Meanwhile, she has a grandson, Sebastian, who is now in college. When she isn’t at work, Sandra enjoys walking in the woods with her dogs, taking bicycle rides, horseback riding, eating good food, cooking, music and theater. She and her dogs enjoy spending time with the residents of Douglas Manor. She also loves taking trips back to England to visit with her family.
Sindy Thomas, Office Manager
Sindy has been a cornerstone of our team for eight years. She loves greeting our clients and their pets, sharing in happy occasions and offering support in difficult times. Sindy is our “go to” person. She currently has 4 retired racing Greyhounds named Blue, Bella, Gypsy, and Skye. She loves flower gardening and collecting “fun stuff.”
